Art therapy: a haven of rebirth for abused women

The violence they have endured inscribes women in a traumatic reality, a signifierless reality that leaves them facing a void, a lack that is impossible to express. Women who have weathered the storms of violence carry deep, invisible wounds that resonate in every fibre of their being. Art therapy, like a gentle, healing breath, opens up a space for them to try and name the unspeakable, where they can deposit their pain, find their voice again,
and learn to love themselves again.

A space for expression to free the silence

For those who have long held back their suffering, because trauma is inscribed in the real, where language fails, where the subject cannot say "I". Art therapy is an open window, a place where words are no longer necessary, where silence can finally speak.

Through simple gestures, without the constraint of phrases, each woman is invited to express her deepest emotions, fears and hopes, at her own pace, without haste. This process acts directly on the limbic system, the seat of emotions, by releasing the tension accumulated in the amygdala, which is often overactive after trauma.
